Practicalities

How we work

Round Table is not run as a commercial business – it’s been our family’s holiday home since 1974. So while it may not be perfect, it does have everything you need for a perfect holiday in the Lakes. That’s what our guests have been saying for the last 40 years, and some have been returning that long.

What to expect, what to bring etc

The only thing we do not provide is bed linen and bath towels.

What you will need to bring

  • Bottom Sheets
  • Duvet Covers
  • Pillow Cases
  • Bath Towels (we supply kitchen towels and tea towels)

There are two king size double beds and three single beds.  The full layout of the house and bedrooms is on our accommodation page

You might also want to bring with you

  • Toilet Paper (there is always a roll or two for when you arrive)
  • Kitchen Roll
  • Coffee and tea
  • Dishwasher tablets (we try to leave some but can not guarantee this)

Plus, of course all the usual things you need for your holiday. Here’s our own personal check list in case you find it useful.

Facilities

Just to remind you, the cottage has the following facilities

  • Freezer
  • Microwave
  • Dishwasher
  • TV with internet and HDMI input
  • Washing Machine
  • Tumble Dryer
    and
  • a Large Cafetiere

Oil, electricity, logs etc

These are included in the price of your stay.

Cleaning after your stay

This is also included. You are expected to strip the beds of your own sheets / duvet covers and to leave the house tidy and in a condition ready for the cleaners to come and do their job.

Telephone

The house had a telephone number for incoming and emergency calls, but BT has recently changed to digital voice and currently this is not working.

Mobile phone reception is variable depending on provider, but much better than it was a few years ago.  Most networks get a signal at least somewhere in the house.

Internet

The house has Wifi and a 40 /10 Mbps rural fibre broadband connection.
